The first sign of 2012. — Ice Henge
Spotted this weekend on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. I have no idea what the true reasoning for these pillars is, whether a turn in a race or a nice artsy way to just accent a skating path. I did get a chuckle out of the lake 'Monster' in the center though.

A Winter Morning Walk in Minneapolis (Part 5)
Last leg of the journey, crossing bridge "27684" (Nice name C.O.M. Tourism council). Funniest thought for me is that this bridge will be older than all our interns this year.
Looking down at the Northstar rail line from bridge 27684. Looks like a toy train set.
Checking out the 420, which everyone but me seems to know as a drug reference. Go figure.
Made it to the door of the Ford Center ...
into the elevator...
and up to my window on the world.
Now back to work.

A Winter Morning Walk in Minneapolis (Part 3)
At the corner of 8th Street & Hennepin just outside the long-time closed Shinders ..Headed up 8th Street towards 1st Ave ...
Past some stupid pigeons that looked like fenced in birds. Made me laugh at the thought.
Headed up First Ave ...
Passing Block E with the Graves hotel on my right ...
and the Target Center on my left.
To be continued.

A Winter Morning Walk in Minneapolis (Part 2)
Made my way up to Hennepin and headed down the strip.
Past the Orpheum ...Past LeMeridien, Crave and The Rock Bottom Brewery ...
Looked across at what was once the Cafe DeNapoli and is now "Smokes" (p.s. take a closer look at the high-mounted poster. It made me laugh)
Walked past the State theater, only stopping for a moment to view the "Loni Anderson" star and pay homage. (Needs cleaning)
And finally I stopped for a moment at the corner of Hennepin & 8th Street.
